Deposit money into your Robinhood account

Initiating a deposit

You can see your transfer history, your pending transfers, and their estimated landing dates in the Statements and History section of the Account tab.

To initiate a deposit in the mobile app (iOS and Android):

Tap the Account tab (person icon) in the bottom right corner (if you're an Android user, tap the Menu icon in the top right corner)
Tap Transfers
Tap Transfer to Robinhood
Choose the account you'd like to transfer from
Enter the deposit
Review the deposit
Submit the deposit

To initiate a deposit on web:

Click Account in the upper right corner of the screen
Click Banking
Choose the account you'd like to transfer from on the panel labeled Transfers (right side of the screen)
Enter the deposit amount
Click Review
Click Submit

Keep in mind

You can make up to 5 deposits per business day into your account.
You can transfer up to $50,000 per business day into your account.
We cannot accept mailed check deposits, however you'll have the option to set up direct deposit if your account is upgraded to Cash Management.

Instant Deposits

You may receive up to $1,000 in Instant Deposits after you initiate a deposit. Although you may get access to these funds, the transfer from your bank to your Robinhood account may take up to five business days. Please make sure you have the necessary funds in your bank account for at least five business days after you initiate the ACH transfer to prevent a transfer reversal. A transfer reversal happens when a scheduled bank transfer is canceled for insufficient funds or a variety of other reasons. Check out our guide to preventing transfer reversals to learn more.

Transfer timelines

Deposits can take up to five business days to complete, but could be shorter depending on your transfer history with Robinhood.

Canceling a transfer

Once a transfer to or from your Robinhood account has been initiated, you have until the time a transfer is processed to cancel. Once a transfer has been processed, it can no longer be cancelled. Please visit our Help Center to learn more about how and when to cancel a transfer.

Automatic deposits

Automatic deposits allow you to set a regular, recurring deposit from your bank account to your Robinhood account. When setting up an automatic deposit, you'll select an amount and cadence that works best for you and your investment goals.

You can set up automatic transfers into your Robinhood account on your mobile app:

Tap the Account icon in the bottom right corner (if you're an Android user, tap the Menu icon in the top right corner)
Tap Transfers
Tap Automatic Deposits
Choose your schedule

Weekly: Deposits initiate this deposit every Monday
Twice Monthly: Deposits initiate this deposit on the 1st and 15th of every month
Monthly: Deposits initiate this deposit on the 1st of every month
Quarterly: Deposits initiate this deposit on the 1st of January, April, July, and October

Enter the amount you want to deposit each time

To initiate an Automatic Deposit on Web:

Click Account in the upper right corner of the screen
Click Banking
Click the arrow next to Transfers on the panel labeled Transfers (right side of the screen)
Select Automatic Deposits from the menu that opens
Choose the account you'd like to transfer from
Enter the deposit amount
Select a schedule from the Frequency menu

Weekly: Deposits initiate this deposit every Monday.
Twice Monthly: Deposits initiate this deposit on the 1st and 15th of every month.
Monthly: Deposits initiate this deposit on the 1st of every month.
Quarterly: Deposits initiate this deposit on the 1st of January, April, July, and October.

Enter the amount you want to deposit each time.

Note

You can only set one weekly, one biweekly, one monthly, and one quarterly automatic deposit for each ACH relationship.
